Sociology of Education
The aim is to convey to prospective teachers the basic concepts of sociology of education, the relationship between education and society, the functions of education in the formation and development of social structure through the lenses of theories on the sociology of education. The function attributed to education within the social structure constitutes the scope of the sociology of education courses. Through this framework, the theories, the scientists, and sociologists who contribute to the field will be examined.
History of Turkish Education
It is aimed to enable prospective teachers' to gain knowledge about the developments in the history of Turkish education, including Education in the First Turkish States, in the Seljuks, in the Ottoman Empire and in the Republic Republic periods, and to acquire basic theoretical knowledge about the history of Turkish education; to research, read, and write on the subject of this course, to discuss and to the development of critical thinking skills.
Philosophy of Education
The purpose of the philosophy of education is to provide prospective teachers with a reflective and broad perspective on education and the ability to critically evaluate views on education and develop sure views on education. It is aimed to discuss philosophical ideas underlying educational traditions and to analyze the concepts used when talking about education on the basis of the themes that philosophy of education has focused on and philosophical ideas about the reality, knowledge, human and children and values (good, bad, right, wrong, beauty, ugly, justice and injustice, freedom) on which educational philosophy has historically emphasized.
